My hope is for this tournament to signify the official launch of w3n. If all goes according to plan, this tournament will draw in new members and build the foundations for a strong community & competitive Warcraft 3 ladder.

I have thought about taking a shot at building a ladder/tournament site for a long time, but only recently have I had the motivation to take on such a project. Although I will try to automate the tournament process as much as I can, I have a feeling there will be a significant amount of grunt work needed on my part. With any luck, I'll learn from my inital mistakes and each tournament will run more smoothly than the last until I finally figure it out.

So far I think the site is moving along nicely, but I'm finding that it demands much more attention to detail than I'd initially thought. I'm hoping that the tournament area is at enough of a functional state to acommodate a lineup of 8 tournament players the first time around. If things really blow up, like I'm hoping they will, I'll be rushing to add support for 16 or 32 players, but I won't keep my fingers crossed.

I have not yet announced a start date for the w3n Nubs & Scrubs War3TFT Tourney. The plan is to hopefully roll right into quarterfinal matchups once all 8 players are signed up and accounted for. Registration for the tournament is now open, but we haven't seen many signups so far.

The tournament format is 1v1 on pre-chosen maps, which will vary from the quarterfinals to semi-finals and finals. You will play against your opponent in a best 2 out of 3 game series; Following which, one of you will log into this website and report the results (My Matches under the Tournament Menu).

You must specify your race when checking-in for the tournament (on the forums), and you are to remain that race until the end. Mid-Tournament race changes will result in immediate disqualification.

I will announce matchups and the tournament brackets will be filled shortly after registration has closed. From that point you will have a certain period of time to complete your match before winners move ahead to the next round. Losers are eliminated and can not continue.
